Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shaw Shank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Denz Curry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Curry walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Shank checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Curry tries to work over Shank's front leg with a kick but Shank checks it.
Shank throws a hook but Curry blocks it.
Curry jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Curry darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Curry misses with a low kick.

Shank with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Curry to score with a decent uppercut.

Curry has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Shank is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Curry pivots, looking for a leg kick but Shank is out of range and Curry settles back down.
A clash of legs there as Curry blocks the low kick.
Curry tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Shank manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Shank avoids a punch combination nicely.
Curry lands a jab.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Shank checks a leg kick.
Shank scores with a kick to the midsection.

Curry pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Shank back to the cage. Curry follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Shank throws out a loose jab but Curry uses good head movement to avoid it.

Shank has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Curry tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Shank was well out of range. Poor timing from Curry.
Shank rushes Curry with punches - Curry moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Curry goes down! Shank follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
