Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Levi King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Bunting (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King comes to the cage accompanied by Lou Reed - Perfect Day. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Levi King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Bunting!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King misses with a straight right.
Bunting keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bunting tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but King paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bunting has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
King throws a body shot but no joy.
King scores with a nice strike.
King throws a wild body kick that Bunting sees coming a mile off.
King shoots in but no luck this time.
Bunting chopping away at his opponent's legs.
A nice inside leg kick there by Bunting. That's going to slow King down.
King throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

King bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We've been hearing good reports from King's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

King wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bunting keeps working.
Bunting can't do much from the bottom here.
Bunting is trying to get back to half guard.
King is looking to take a break and control but Bunting is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

King sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Bunting is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

King is chipping away with strikes.
Bunting manages to get back to half guard.
King drops an elbow to the side of Bunting's head.


It looks like John Bunting has been cut.
Bunting is looking to improve his position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
King thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bunting's head.
Bunting is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
King is trying to control the action in half guard but Bunting is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

King is looking to stall here but Bunting recovers full guard.
King throws a big elbow that misses.
Bunting manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. King manages to get himself to full guard.

King looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

King working for a triangle but Bunting defends it easily.
Bunting controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

King controls Bunting momentarily but Bunting frees himself.
King has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bunting throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as King works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Bunting stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. King swivels though and keeps the full guard.

King is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Bunting wants to control from the top but King keeps moving.
Bunting pushing down on King's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

King is trying to maintain the position but Bunting is very close to passing his half guard.
Bunting looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks King with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
King gets full guard.
King is trying to keep Bunting in close.

King is looking for a triangle but Bunting pushes his legs off easily.
King is adopting a defensive guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
King is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Levi King dominated that round.
The cut man is working on John Bunting's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Bunting wants to slow King down by chopping away at his legs.
Bunting looks to score with a jab to the body but King is just out of range.
King blocks a head kick by Bunting.
Bunting lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Bunting.
Bunting moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
King misses the jab.
King swings and misses with a hook to the body.
King looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Bunting thumps King with a low kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bunting slips a straight right by King.
King throws a head kick but Bunting moves out of range.
Bunting misses with a body kick.
King moves out of range of the leg kick from Bunting.
King misses with a lunging right hand

and Bunting moves into the clinch.
Bunting lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt King or not.

Bunting misses with a body punch.
Bunting takes an elbow to the forehead.
Bunting lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Bunting misses with a punch on the inside.
Bunting lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
King blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Bunting throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
King misses with the head strike.
King tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bunting smiles and moves away.
Bunting gets cracked with a nice right hand there by King.


That has opened up John Bunting's cut even more.
Bunting swings away with a leg kick that misses.
King throws a head kick that misses.

King throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bunting was covering up waiting for the punch and King finishes the takedown easily into guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bunting is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bunting prevents King from improving his position.

King actively working from the bottom here.
King trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

Levi King overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

King tries to lock up and control but Bunting gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
King is trying to escape the mount.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
King can't escape the position.
Bunting scoring with strikes but King is staying in there.

BOOM! Bunting connects with a massive shot to the dome!
King is wriggling around trying to escape.

John Bunting showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Bunting throws the kick towards the body but King avoids it.
King fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Bunting is out of range.
Bunting misses with a body kick.
Bunting slaps away a takedown attempt from King, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Bunting pivots, looking for a leg kick but King is out of range and Bunting settles back down.
King throws a head kick but Bunting moves out of range.
Bunting throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Bunting lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from King.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
King swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Bunting holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
King pushes off an throws an elbow but Bunting leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Bunting lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Bunting tries to throw a body punch but King avoids it by throwing Bunting back against the cage.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, King just misses with a elbow thrown towards Bunting's brow.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bunting accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Oh King is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

John Bunting comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Bunting has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
