The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De La Hoya connects with a looping right hand.

It looks like Richard Stockton has been cut.
De La Hoya lands with a cross.

Stockton forces De La Hoya back against the cage and clinches.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
De La Hoya has had enough of the clinch but Stockton keeps him there for the moment.

De La Hoya is trying to force a seperation but Stockton has the dominant position.

Stockton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Stockton has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Stockton uses good head movement to avoid the hook from De La Hoya.
Horrible takedown attempt by Stockton or perhaps it was just good defense by De La Hoya, which made it look bad.

Stockton closes the distance and pushes De La Hoya back into the cage.
De La Hoya tries to break the clinch but Stockton is controlling the position.
Stockton wants a takedown but no success here.

Stockton breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
De La Hoya lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Stockton circles away quickly and effectively.
Stockton shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Yohan De La Hoya has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richard Stockton.
Stockton throws out a leg kick but De La Hoya moves out of range and Stockton only half commits.
De La Hoya is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Stockton.
De La Hoya throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
De La Hoya lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Nice takedown defense from De La Hoya. No joy for Stockton on that attempt.
De La Hoya slaps away a takedown attempt from Stockton, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Stockton shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has De La Hoya pinned against the cage. De La Hoya gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
De La Hoya closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Stockton out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!
