The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shogun shoots in and bounces Holman off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Holman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Shogun stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Holman swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Shogun throws a big elbow that misses.
Holman looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Shogun pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Holman is keeping the position for now.
Holman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shogun on the ground.
Shogun seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Holman wants to sweep but no luck.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Geraldo Shogun hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Holman enables Shogun to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Holman manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Shogun looking to sit in guard and control but Holman gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Holman trying to control the position from guard on top but Shogun is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shogun trying to control but Holman is having none of it.
Shogun takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Holman in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Shogun is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Holman can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Holman is looking to get to half guard.
Holman takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Holman is rocked!
