Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kieth Todd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ethan Choppo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kieth Todd has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kieth Todd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ethan Choppo!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Choppo darts in and clinches Todd up against the cage.

Choppo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Choppo closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Todd did well to prevent Choppo getting side control.
Choppo is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Choppo is working for a guillotine from mount but Todd frees his head quite easily.
Todd is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
A nice elbow there by Choppo.


It looks like Kieth Todd has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Choppo in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.


Kieth Todd's cut is getting worse.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Choppo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The referee warns Todd that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.


Todd is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Choppo jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Todd manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Choppo staying calm.
Let's hope that Choppo has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Choppo decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Choppo scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Choppo is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Choppo stands up and beckons Todd to join him on the feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Choppo's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Todd connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Choppo scrambles back to his feet.

Choppo throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Todd tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Choppo is in Todd's guard.

Choppo gets to his feet. Todd looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Choppo clinches.
Choppo has Todd pressed against the cage.
Todd tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Choppo just stands there and leans against the cage.

Choppo is trying to trip Todd. He has hold of a leg but Todd is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Choppo persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Choppo stands up and waves to Todd to follow him.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Choppo decides to pull guard.
Choppo is pulling down on Todd's head. It's preventing any offense from Todd, at least for the moment.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ethan Choppo dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Kieth Todd's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Choppo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Choppo lands in his opponent's guard.
Choppo is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Ethan Choppo has got the better of the ground game so far.

Kieth Todd's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Choppo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Choppo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Choppo controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ethan Choppo was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Todd tries to keep at a distance but Choppo has taken the fight into the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Choppo drags the fight down to the ground.
Choppo controlling Todd's posture.

Choppo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Todd defends well.
Choppo tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Todd has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Choppo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Choppo slows the pace down in half guard.
Choppo thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Todd's head.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Choppo in particular looking to stall.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Choppo decides to return to a standing position.
Choppo lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Todd goes down and covers up as Choppo starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ethan Choppo!
