Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tom Hagen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Waits (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Waits's choice of entrance music: What A Waste. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Tom Hagen!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Tom Waits!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Steven Brown and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waits tries to land a body kick
and Hagen counters with a right hand to the body.
Hagen avoids the body shot from Waits.
Waits is looking to clinch but Hagen is avoiding it.
Hagen shoots for a double leg takedown but Waits sprawls well. He's pushed Hagen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Waits tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hagen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Waits looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Waits swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Waits lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Hagen chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Waits can pounce on him.

Hagen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Waits doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Waits manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hagen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hagen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hagen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Hagen postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Waits is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hagen, into his guard.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Waits working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Hagen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hagen seems to be working for a kimura but Waits defends the submission attempt.

Let's hope that Waits has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Waits bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hagen's guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tom Hagen will probably get the nod.

That was a close round but Tom Hagen did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


The fighters circle momentarily. Waits darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
