Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Davide Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Murray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Sanchez might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Zombies - Shez not there . Davide Sanchez has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murray throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Sanchez on the side of the head.
Sanchez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Murray drives through with a takedown into guard.
Sanchez is trying to control the position but Murray postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sanchez throws his legs up looking for a submission but Murray uses it to pass to side control.

Murray decides to stand back up. Murray steps back and let's Sanchez get back to his feet.

and Sanchez counters with a single leg into guard. Murray didn't expect that.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Murray is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sanchez is controlling him.
Sanchez is fighting to break Murray's control of his arms but Murray is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Murray is on top in guard.
Murray is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Murray tries to stand but Sanchez is controlling from the bottom.

Murray lands a good elbow from the bottom.

Murray pushes Sanchez off and scrambles back to his feet.
Murray connects with a high kick.
Sanchez shoots in but Murray avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Murray tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sanchez paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Murray fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sanchez, pushing him back against the cage.

Murray breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Sanchez scores with a takedown into Murray's guard.
Sanchez is breathing heavily.
Sanchez wants to control from the top but Murray keeps moving.
Sanchez is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Murray is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Murray will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Murray looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sanchez is one step ahead there.

Sanchez wants to pass the guard but Murray is keeping the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Murray moves into the clinch successfully.
Sanchez tries to pull guard but Murray holds him up against the cage and eventually Sanchez drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Davide Sanchez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sanchez has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Murray is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
