PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hunter Brady (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kaese Krainer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Krainer's choice of entrance music: Helene Fischer- Atemlos durch die Nacht. Hunter Brady has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hunter Brady!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kaese Krainer!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Krainer takes the fight into the clinch.
Brady looking to stall.

Brady jumps guard and drags Krainer to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Brady working for a triangle but Krainer defends it easily.
Brady is trying to control the position but Krainer postures up.
Brady really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Krainer is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Brady seems keen to control Krainer's posture.

Krainer not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

We're going to have a standup here because Hunter Brady wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Brady darts in and clinches Krainer up against the cage.
Brady tries to stall but Krainer uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Brady wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Krainer manages to pass to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brady has hold of Krainer's hands but Krainer slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Krainer perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Kaese Krainer.

Brady will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Krainer is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Krainer remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Brady is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Kaese Krainer hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Brady darts in and clinches Krainer up against the cage.
Brady wants to stall.
Brady is trying to break free.

Brady is fighting off a takedown attempt but Krainer is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Brady to the mat. Brady regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Brady can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Krainer controls the pace.

Krainer keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Brady's efforts to push away.

Brady manages to pull guard.

Krainer seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Brady pushes Krainer off looking to stand but Krainer dives back in and keeps control.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Kaese Krainer wasn't active enough on the ground.

Krainer fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Brady to the ground. Krainer is now in Brady's guard.

Brady working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Krainer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Krainer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Brady manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Brady enables Krainer to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Brady manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Brady is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee asks Krainer politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Krainer prefers to stall for the moment though.
Let's hope that Krainer has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Brady is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Krainer has just dragged him back down to the mat.
