The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yen darts in looking for a takedown but Nebi gets double underhooks and turns Yen into the cage.
I was talking to Nebi's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
A head punch on the inside from Nebi fails to land.
Yen is working for takedown but Nebi is calmly controlling the position for now.
Yen drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Nebi gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Daniyel Nebi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donnie Yen.
A head punch on the inside from Nebi fails to land.
Yen pulls Nebi into guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Nebi cracks Yen with a solid left hand.
Nebi keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Yen's head.
Nebi is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Yen wants to stand and escape but Nebi is having none of it.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Yen shoots and misses
and Nebi counters with a good low kick that Yen was not able to check.
Nice takedown defense from Nebi. No joy for Yen on that attempt.

Nebi's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Nebi has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Daniyel Nebi just wasn't active enough.
Yen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nebi circles away.

Good leg kick by Nebi there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Yen cracks Nebi with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Yen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Yen misses with a takedown attempt - Nebi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Yen throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Yen closes the distance and clinches up with Nebi, looking for a takedown. Yen pushes Nebi against the cage but Nebi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Yen thows a body kick. Nebi tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Yen throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Donnie Yen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yen misses with a head kick.
Nebi Throws a clean left jab. Nebi Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Yen's chin! Yen crumbles to the ground and Nebi follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Nebi!
