The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perini looks to score with a jab to the body but Gallagher is just out of range.
Perini misses with a few strikes there.
Gallagher shoots in for a takedown but Perini shows good takedown defense.
Perini lands a jab to the nose.

It looks like Wendell Gallagher has been cut.
Perini takes a swing at Gallagher's ribcage but misses.
Perini fails to land with a series of punches.
Perini jabs Gallagher right on the nose. Gallagher blinks but takes it well.
Gallagher is looking to clinch.
Perini falls off balance throwing a combination

and Gallagher counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Gallagher.
Perini wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Perini's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Perini connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Gallagher! He's out on his feet! Perini rushes in and drops Gallagher with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!

After the fight, Jimmy Perini was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
