Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Peter McBain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Corey Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McBain comes to the cage accompanied by Harder Than You Think by Public Enemy. Corey Jr has chosen La La La Girl by Paffendorf as his entrance music. Peter McBain has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Peter McBain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Corey Jr!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corey Jr blocks a head kick by McBain.
McBain lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Corey Jr fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Peter McBain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McBain misses with a series of wild punches.
McBain buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Corey Jr shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Corey Jr was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
McBain wants to get back to his feet but Corey Jr drags him back down.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The ground and pound from Corey Jr seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

McBain is not content to let Corey Jr control the position.
McBain is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
McBain pushes Corey Jr away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Corey Jr gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
McBain's coaches at Canadian Top Team have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Horrible takedown attempt by Corey Jr or perhaps it was just good defense by McBain, which made it look bad.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McBain throws a left and a right that both miss
and Corey Jr counters with a lovely shot to the body.
McBain stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McBain wants it to stay on the feet.

Mike Corey Jr dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


McBain misses with a straight left.

Corey Jr shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McBain sprawls well. McBain wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Corey Jr gets slowly back to his feet.
A combination from McBain does no damage.
McBain lands a head kick. Corey Jr smiles back at him and beckons him forward.


It looks like Mike Corey Jr has been cut.
Corey Jr is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and Corey Jr counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Corey Jr closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Corey Jr creates some space and throws a big elbow, but McBain sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

McBain throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Corey Jr misses with a hook. McBain ducked under it nicely.

Corey Jr feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The fighters are working up against the cage. McBain manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Corey Jr feints and then cracks McBain's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow McBain down.
McBain doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Peter McBain is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Corey Jr lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and McBain has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from McBain and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
McBain misses with a few strikes there.
McBain connects with an inside leg kick.
Corey Jr wants to land a leg kick but McBain is out of range.
Corey Jr uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before McBain has time to react.

Corey Jr throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. McBain tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Corey Jr is in McBain's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Peter McBain was interviewed post fight and said 'I want to thank all you fans for coming out tonight, Kaiser for helping me look so good, and Fury for helping me be strong, my team at Hey Steve's Fight Shack, all of my loved ones back home, and King Justus for letting me fight here in the OFC..really wanted the win tonight, I'll get it next time'.
