Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jakob Silfversberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and CJ Wilkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jakob Silfversberg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, CJ Wilkins!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilkins throws a leg kick but Silfversberg checks it.
We've been told by Silfversberg's head coaches at Nights Watch MMA Academy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Wilkins attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Silfversberg feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Silfversberg is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Silfversberg scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Silfversberg makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wilkins has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at >TAPOUT ELITE< . Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Silfversberg is trying to control. Wilkins wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Silfversberg has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Wilkins tries to lock up and control but Silfversberg gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Silfversberg controlling the pace for now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wilkins tries to reverse the position but Silfversberg maintains control.
Silfversberg trying to control but Wilkins is having none of it.
Silfversberg raining down hammerfists from mount.
Wilkins sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Silfversberg looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Wilkins with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Silfversberg's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Wilkins finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Wilkins tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Silfversberg was well out of range. Poor timing from Wilkins.

Wilkins plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

CJ Wilkins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Silfversberg postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Wilkins in real trouble here! The ref calls for Wilkins to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jakob Silfversberg!
Jakob Silfversberg was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
