Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pablo West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Singam Kuhan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pablo West!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Singam Kuhan!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuhan throws a combination that misses

and West counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kuhan's guard now.
Kuhan looking to control.
West prevents Kuhan from getting back to his feet.
Kuhan has West pulled in close to control his posture.
West trying to control the position from guard on top but Kuhan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kuhan is striking but West is not phased and passes to half guard.
West keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

West not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Kuhan is not content to let West control the position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kuhan scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but West manages to mount him!

Kuhan slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Kuhan wants to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
West trying to control from half guard but Kuhan is working away.
Kuhan is looking to improve his position.
West throwing shots but Kuhan is blocking nicely.
West thows a huge punch but Kuhan dodges it nicely.

West is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kuhan doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time West.
West has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kuhan is doing well to control the position and prevent West from advancing to side control.

West seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kuhan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

West thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kuhan's head.

West thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Kuhan looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

West lands a couple of digs.
West sitting in guard, not really doing much.
West wants to control from the top but Kuhan keeps moving.
Kuhan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
West throws a big right hand that misses.

Kuhan seems keen to control West's posture.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Pablo West.

West has taken the fight to the clinch.
West jumps guard but Kuhan stands there with West around his waist. West gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Kuhan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
West wants to clinch but Kuhan slips to the side
enabling Kuhan to counter with a crisp jab.


It looks like Pablo West has been cut.
West wants to clinch up but Kuhan keeps it at a distance.

Kuhan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. West looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Kuhan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
West tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kuhan wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kuhan is looking to take a break and control but West is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kuhan in side control lands a decent elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Pablo West will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Kuhan clinches with his opponent.

Kuhan has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed West clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
West is trying to stand back up.
Kuhan tries to keep control of the position but West is staying busy.

Kuhan is persistently looking for the submission but West is defending it well.
West manages to reverse the position and now he's in Kuhan's guard. Nice work there by West.
West working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Pablo West overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kuhan had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. West defends it easily.

West has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kuhan uses from the top position.
West wants to get back to his feet but Kuhan is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

West has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Kuhan off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

West takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Singam Kuhan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



West fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kuhan to the ground. West is now in Kuhan's guard.
West wants to control from the top but Kuhan keeps moving.

Kuhan has his foot on West's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. West works his way back into a safe position though.
Kuhan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst West is controlling him.

Kuhan throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Kuhan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Kuhan closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

West gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Kuhan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. West manages to get himself to full guard.

West manages to escape and get back to his feet.

West looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kuhan is one step ahead there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
West striking off his back but it's not causing Kuhan any problems.
West keeping moving, preventing Kuhan from controlling successfully.
Kuhan trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
West is looking to stand up but Kuhan isn't so interested in that idea.
West is striking but Kuhan is not phased and passes to half guard.
Kuhan lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
West is looking for a sweep. Kuhan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

West has one foot on Kuhan's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Kuhan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kuhan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Kuhan wants to control but West is keeping him busy.
West takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
West is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Kuhan trying to control the action but West is working from the bottom.
West is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

A lull in the action here as Kuhan stalls from top position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
West tries to escape but Kuhan is in control.
Kuhan trying to control the position but West is working away.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Singam Kuhan has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
West shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kuhan as he jumps to the side.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kuhan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent West stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Pablo West.
I think West has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
