Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gus Gunner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Oman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gus Gunner has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Gus Gunner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Aaron Oman!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunner connects with a body shot that sends Oman's belly button to the back.
Aaron Oman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gunner is defended easily by Oman.

Gunner forces Oman back against the cage and clinches.
Gunner is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Gunner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gunner fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Oman closes the distance and clinches up with Gunner, looking for a takedown. Oman pushes Gunner against the cage but Gunner circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Oman makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Oman is trying to pull guard but Gunner has him pressed against the cage.
Oman is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Gunner gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Gus Gunner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aaron Oman.

Gunner manages to break the clinch.
Gunner fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Oman avoids it really well and circles away.
Oman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gunner as he jumps to the side.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gunner looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Oman feints a jab promting Gunner to slip. Oman then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Gunner slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Gunner swats away the attempt to clinch by Oman.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Gunner clinches.
Gunner is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Oman gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Oman is trying to pull guard but Gunner turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Gunner manages to pull guard.
Oman trying to control but Gunner is working from the bottom.
Oman controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Let's hope that Oman has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gunner is trying to control the position but Oman postures up.

Oman working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Aaron Oman hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Oman closes the distance and clinches.
Gunner goes for a takedown in the clinch but Oman prevents it.
Oman's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Oman misses with a hook from the clinch.

Gunner's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Oman will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Oman tries to bum rush Gunner with a series of wild strikes but Gunner uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Gunner shoots in for a takedown but Oman shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Gunner is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Oman to keep the fight standing.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Oman.
Oman wants to take the fight to the mat but Gunner manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Oman is looking to control Gunner's arms but Gunner gets an underhook and turns him. Now Oman has his back to the cage.

Gunner is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gunner tries a knee to the head but Oman blocks it.
Oman misses with a punch to the body.
Oman is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Oman tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Oman misses with a punch to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aaron Oman dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Oman dives in for a single leg takedown but Gunner sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Gunner lands a head shot.
Gunner looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Oman is fending him off so far but Gunner persists. Nope, Oman circles away and we're back to standing.
Horrible takedown attempt by Oman or perhaps it was just good defense by Gunner, which made it look bad.
Gus Gunner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aaron Oman.
Oman stalks Gunner and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Gunner's face. Gunner staggers backwards, shaken.
Oman misses with a straight left.
Gunner fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Oman avoids it really well and circles away.
Gunner looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Oman is fending him off so far but Gunner persists. Nope, Oman circles away and we're back to standing.
Oman is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Oman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gunner as he jumps to the side.
Oman slaps away a takedown attempt from Gunner, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Aaron Oman seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Oman avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Gunner gets caught flat footed, as Oman shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Gunner is looking to improve his position.

Oman takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Oman is taking a breather. Gunner says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oman postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Gunner looks a forlorn figure.
Oman tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Oman can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gunner is looking to escape.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Aaron Oman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Gunner's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Gunner tries to stall but Oman uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Gunner has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Oman uses from the top position.

Aaron Oman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Oman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
