Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eric Eel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddyy Gonzales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddyy Gonzales!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eel misses with a takedown attempt - Gonzales sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Eel feints and as Gonzales raises his hands in defense, Eel changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Eel has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Eel lands a couple of digs.

Gonzales wants to stand but Eel is controlling the position.

Eel gets to his feet - Gonzales follows without any prompting.

and Eel decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gonzales's guard.
Gonzales is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Eel knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gonzales on the ground.

Gonzales wants to stand and escape but Eel is having none of it.

Eel slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Gonzales is still in real trouble! Can Eel finish him?

Eel arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Gonzales's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Eric Eel!
A very excited looking Eric Eel made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
