Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Joey Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rhet Bart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bart is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by My Name Is Not A Pun by The Generic Indie Band 28. Rhet Bart has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Young throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Young. No joy for Bart on that attempt.
Bart will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Young tries for a takedown but Bart sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Young counters with a single leg into guard. Bart didn't expect that.
Joey Young has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rhet Bart.
Young wants to get up but he can't break Bart's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Young looking to sit in guard and control but Bart gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Bart stands and throws Young's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Bart goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Young has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Bart but great work by Young.

Young decides to stand up, so the ref orders Bart to his feet.

Bart drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Young wants to stand and escape but Bart is having none of it.

Bart is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Young pulls Bart in close to his closed guard and prevents Bart from doing any damage or advancing position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bart tries to free his leg and advance position but Young is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Young wants to sweep but no luck.

Young is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Bart reverses the position - he's now on top in Young's guard.
Young manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bart manages to get himself to full guard.
Young has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Young decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Bart moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Young fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Bart is out of range.

Bart shoots in and bounces Young off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Bart drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bart jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Young shoots in but no luck this time.
Bart looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Young postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bart is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Young, into his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bart gets to his feet. Young looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Bart doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Young counters with a one-two to the body.

Young throws a right and a left that both miss.
Young misses with a takedown attempt - Bart sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Bart shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Young is wriggling around trying to escape.

Bart wants to finish this one by submission but Young is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Bart.

Young tries to hold on but Bart pushes him away.
Young tries to reverse the position but Bart maintains control.

Bart quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Bart but it's paid off an Young is forced to tap! Nice work by Bart.
