Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dr Gonzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Mercurious (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mercurious is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Eazy E - Boyz N' Tha Hood. Rocky Mercurious has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzo jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A looping hook to the body misses from Mercurious. Gonzo does a little dance to reset his feet.
Gonzo connects with a looping right hand.
That kick from Mercurious tenderised Gonzo's leg. Gonzo is trying to keep his angry face on.

Mercurious really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gonzo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gonzo chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Mercurious can pounce on him.
Gonzo looks to score with a jab to the body but Mercurious is just out of range.
Gonzo shoots in looking for a takedown but Mercurious manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gonzo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gonzo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Gonzo is pushing down on Mercurious's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mercurious is fighting to maintain full guard but Gonzo has managed to sneak the leg through.
Mercurious wants to improve his position but Gonzo is controlling well.
Mercurious has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at GreatWall MMA. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Gonzo thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mercurious's head.
Gonzo is keen to just control but Mercurious is a slippery customer.
Gonzo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mercurious knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mercurious throws a head kick but Gonzo moves out of range.

Dr Gonzo dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Gonzo cracks Mercurious with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Mercurious tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gonzo throws out a powerful jab.
Mercurious moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Gonzo steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mercurious.

and Gonzo counters with a single leg into guard. Mercurious didn't expect that.
Gonzo won't allow Mercurious to get back to his feet.
Gonzo is looking to advance position but Mercurious has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Gonzo is trying desperately to improve position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gonzo slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Mercurious trying to control from Gonzo's half guard. Gonzo has other ideas though and has regained full guard.

Gonzo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mercurious can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Mercurious would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Gonzo is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Mercurious rolls with it to try and escape but Gonzo cranks on the arm and Mercurious is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

During a confident post fight interview, Dr Gonzo thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
