Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rob Ramirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paulo Fernando (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paulo Fernando is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rob Ramirez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paulo Fernando!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Emerson Jorge and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fernando gets tackled into the cage by Ramirez. Ramirez maintains the clinch.
Fernando looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Fernando would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Ramirez wants to free his trapped foot but Fernando is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Fernando wants to control but Ramirez is keeping busy.
Fernando is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ramirez in particular looking to stall.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ramirez is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Fernando has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Ramirez gets his hands free as Fernando looks to control.
Ramirez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fernando on the ground.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ramirez has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Fernando has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ramirez drives through with a takedown into Fernando's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Ramirez throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Fernando was covering up waiting for the punch and Ramirez finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Fernando is breathing heavily.

Fernando is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Rob Ramirez.
Fernando takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.


Fernando is rocked!
Ramirez lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Fernando out cold! Fernando is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Rob Ramirez!
