Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Derfel Cadarn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clifford Donovan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Donovan has chosen Down Under as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Clifford Donovan!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cadarn misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Donovan is looking to clinch but Cadarn is avoiding it.
Donovan scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Cadarn throws a push kick but Donovan slaps the foot to one side.
Donovan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

and Cadarn counters with a good, hard body kick but Donovan shrugs it off.

Donovan shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cadarn napping and manages to drive through into side control!
You can see the frustration on Cadarn's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Cadarn takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Donovan sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Cadarn is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Cadarn wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Donovan is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cadarn is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Cadarn on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cadarn tries to get out of the position.
Donovan fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Donovan looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Cadarn is avoiding damage well.
Cadarn wants to control but Donovan postures up.
Donovan misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Donovan is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Cadarn tries to buck Donovan off but Donovan is having none of it.

Donovan is working to tighten his grip on Cadarn's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Cadarn has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Donovan is really squeezing tight and eventually Cadarn passes out! Donovan breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Clifford Donovan!
A relieved looking Clifford Donovan thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
