The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Parks or perhaps it was just good defense by Haney, which made it look bad.
A punch combination from Parks misses.
Parks doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Haney counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Parks keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Haney scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Parks is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Haney looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Haney is working to tighten his grip on Parks's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Parks has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Haney is really squeezing tight and eventually Parks passes out! Haney breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
