The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A good leg kick by Doofenshmirtz.
Doofenshmirtz swings for the body but Rento moves out of range.
Doofenshmirtz misses with a takedown attempt - Rento sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Rento checks a leg kick.
Rento tries to clinch up but Doofenshmirtz circles away and keeps his distance.
Crunch! Doofenshmirtz slams his shin into Rento's torso.

Doofenshmirtz scores with a takedown into Rento's guard.
Rento told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Doofenshmirtz with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Rento avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Doofenshmirtz won't allow Rento to sweep him here.

Doofenshmirtz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Rento looking for a sweep. Not yet Rento, not yet.

Doofenshmirtz throwing strikes but missing.
Rento can't keep his opponent in guard - Doofenshmirtz advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Rento is pressing down on Doofenshmirtz's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Doofenshmirtz throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rento works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Rento looking to hit a scissor sweep but Doofenshmirtz is one step ahead there.
Doofenshmirtz stands and throws Rento's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Doofenshmirtz landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Rento is trying to improve his position.
Doofenshmirtz cracks Rento with a big elbow.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rento managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Doofenshmirtz.

What's Rento going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Doofenshmirtz in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Doofenshmirtz tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Doofenshmirtz has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Doofenshmirtz is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rento is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Rento is looking for a sweep.

Rento is working to avoid the ground and pound but Doofenshmirtz connects with a decent elbow.
Rento tries to improve position but can't.

Doofenshmirtz swings around for an armbar but Rento sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Doofenshmirtz's guard.

Doofenshmirtz has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Rento doesn't defend quickly enough and Doofenshmirtz has managed to lock this one up! Can Rento escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Doofenshmirtz on a fantastic submission victory.
