Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jasper Slater!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Scott Spielman!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slater tries to keep at a distance but Spielman has taken the fight into the clinch.
Slater tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Spielman avoids it.

Spielman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Slater fails with a takedown attempt.
Slater moves in looking to clinch but Spielman pushes him off.

Spielman closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Slater to the mat! Slater manages to get full guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Slater being controlled here, momentarily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Slater really is a fat lump.

Scott Spielman has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
A low kick from Spielman misses

and Slater counters with a shoot takedown. Spielman fights it but they end up in guard.
Spielman looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Slater puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Spielman gets full guard.
Slater in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Slater accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Spielman looking to hit a scissor sweep but Slater is one step ahead there.

Spielman bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Slater's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Spielman looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Slater trying to keep a closed guard but Spielman is proving a slippery customer.

Slater gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Slater tries to close the distance and clinch but Spielman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Let's hope that Spielman has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Scott Spielman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Well Spielman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
