Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sheldon Gallegos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marco Taylor has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Sheldon Gallegos's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Taylor has Gallegos up against the cage in a clinch.

A quick uppercut on the inside from Taylor.
Gallegos is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Taylor to keep the fight standing.
Gallegos jumps guard but Taylor turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Gallegos is looking to break free of the clinch but Taylor has double underhooks.

Taylor manages to break the clinch.
Gallegos tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Gallegos drives through with a takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Taylor is trying to keep Gallegos in close.
Taylor is adopting a defensive guard.
Gallegos could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Gallegos prevents Taylor from getting back to his feet.
Taylor wants to sweep here but Gallegos controlling him for the moment.

Taylor has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Gallegos off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Taylor tries to clinch up but Gallegos circles away and keeps his distance.
Gallegos fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Taylor avoids it really well and circles away.

Taylor tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gallegos swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Taylor uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Gallegos.

Gallegos gets tackled into the cage by Taylor. Taylor maintains the clinch.

Taylor escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Gallegos wants to get back to striking at distance but Taylor won't allow it.

Taylor is trying to trip Gallegos. He has hold of a leg but Gallegos is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Taylor persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Gallegos avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Taylor wants to pass the guard but Gallegos is keeping the position.
Gallegos wants to get back to his feet but Taylor is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Gallegos has Taylor pulled in close to control his posture.

Taylor is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Marco Taylor was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Gallegos moves in looking to clinch but Taylor pushes him off.
Gallegos tries to close the distance and clinch up but Taylor swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Taylor tries to clinch but Gallegos is having none of it.
Gallegos misses with a takedown attempt - Taylor sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Taylor doesn't manage to clinch there - Gallegos circles away.
Taylor misses with a double jab
and Gallegos counters with a nice uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marco Taylor dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Danga de danga de dang - Gallegos scores with a four punch combination!
Gallegos looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Taylor fakes the leg kick and cracks Gallegos in the body.
Gallegos fails to land with a series of punches.
Sheldon Gallegos is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gallegos blocks a head kick by Taylor.

Taylor clinches up against the cage.
Taylor keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Gallegos's efforts to push away.
Gallegos wants to get back to striking at distance but Taylor won't allow it.

Taylor has clasped his hands together around Gallegos's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Taylor tries to advance to mount but can't.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Taylor throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Gallegos works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Taylor throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Taylor is controlling the pace.
Gallegos moves into full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Taylor stays in close to Gallegos's body and controls the position.
Taylor really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gallegos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gallegos has his foot on Taylor's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Taylor works his way back into a safe position though.
Taylor must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Gallegos stands and steps away. Taylor gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gallegos shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Taylor as he jumps to the side.
Taylor throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Gallegos counters with a one-two to the body.
Taylor throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marco Taylor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Taylor can do anything to dispel that myth.

and Gallegos counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Gallegos fails to land with a series of punches.
Taylor lunges at Gallegos with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Gallegos's hand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Taylor jumps guard and drags Gallegos to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Sheldon Gallegos has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Marco Taylor is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Gallegos scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Marco Taylor comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Taylor has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
