The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newell fails with a takedown attempt.
Newell bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Gatti connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
It looks like Declan Newell has been cut.
Newell takes one to the chin there.
Newell throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Newell takes the fight into the clinch.
Newell is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Gatti pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Gatti tries to break the clinch but Newell is controlling the position.

Newell is working for takedown but Gatti is calmly controlling the position for now.

Newell looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gatti is fending him off so far but Newell persists. Nope, Gatti circles away and we're back to standing.

Newell keeps control of Gatti as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Gatti wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Gatti prevents the takedown attempt.
Newell has Gatti pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Gatti manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Gatti wants to break the clinch but can't.
Gatti has had enough of the clinch but Newell keeps him there for the moment.
Newell drops down looking for an ankle pick but Gatti pulls his leg out and moves away.
Gatti uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Newell has time to react.
Gatti swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Newell.
Good standup being displayed there by Gatti as he connects with a hook.
Gatti misses with a series of wild punches.
Gatti is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Gatti drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Newell right on the button. Newell goes down! Gatti follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Gatti gets the win via TKO!
