Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mega Funkyama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Kwaak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Funkyama comes to the cage accompanied by Bon Jovi: Bad Medicine. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mega Funkyama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Kwaak!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Funkyama throws a lazy right hand but Kwaak sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Kwaak uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Funkyama.
Funkyama misses with the combination.
Kwaak closes the distance but Funkyama moves to the side

and Funkyama counters with a takedown into side control.

Mega Funkyama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kwaak does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

We've been hearing good reports from Funkyama's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
