The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richards misses with a two punch combination.
Richards shoots in and drives through. Sausage sprawls well.
Richards misses with a straight right.
Sausage will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Richards throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sausage.
Sausage fails with an attempt to clinch.
Richards shoots in but no luck this time.
Sausage throws a series of punches but Richards avoids them all with ease.
A punch combination from Richards misses.
Sausage wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Richards is breathing heavily.
Donk. Sausage catches Richards right on the button with a cross.

It looks like Barry Richards has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sausage throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sausage fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Sausage looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Richards!
Richards is trying to get to the ropes to help him get back to his feet.

Sausage sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Sausage is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Richards is surviving well by controlling Sausage's body position as best he can.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Sausage won't let Richards get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sausage moves to take his opponent's back.
Sausage slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Sausage's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Richards trying to control the position but Sausage manages to sink in the hooks.
Sausage is riding his opponent, not letting Richards buck him off.

Let's hope that Sausage has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Despite being in the dominant position, Sonny Sausage just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sausage lands a left and a right that sends Richards crashing to the canvas! Sausage dives into mount looking to finish!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Richards works over Sausage's head and body with a nice combination.
Richards throws a left and a right that both miss
and Sausage cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Richards checks a low kick from Sausage.
Sausage looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Richards walks straight into a right hand from Sausage - that's dropped him! Sausage jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Richards from any more punishment! Richards complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
