PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rumina Sato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackson Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sato comes into the arena with Call to prayer of islam blaring out of the sound system. Savage is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bon Jovi - It's my life. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Rumina Sato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 29 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jackson Savage!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Saam Ante and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage looks to clinch
and Sato counters with a left to the body.

Savage shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Sato is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Savage is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Savage is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Sato is trying to stand up here but Savage is controlling him well.

We've been hearing good reports from Sato's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Savage tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Savage has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sato can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Savage working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sato doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sato manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Sato connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Sato gets tackled into the ropes by Savage. Savage maintains the clinch.

Sato pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

The fighters circle momentarily. Sato darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Sato connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Savage momentarily.

Sato is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Sato lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Rumina Sato seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Savage has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Savage there as he acknowledges the shot.

Sato uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Savage has time to react.

Savage shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sato but Sato pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sato looks to land a left hand but Savage moved out of range nicely.

Jackson Savage decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
Rumina Sato was interviewed post fight and said 'It's at times like this, one must reach deeply into his soul,challenge his heart, feel new courage, endure the fuck pain and say 'FUCK ISLAM AND MOHAMMED WAS A PEDOPHILE''.
