The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Menem takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Gugeneshvili throws a low kick, looking for Menem's leg but Menem calmly moves out of range.
Menem takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Gugeneshvili tries to clinch
and Menem counters with a body kick that stops Gugeneshvili in his tracks momentarily.
Gugeneshvili really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Gugeneshvili doesn't manage to clinch there - Menem circles away.

Menem cracks Gugeneshvili with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Gugeneshvili is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Gugeneshvili is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9, he's up! Wow, he cut that one a bit fine!
