Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ice Drago!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
30 - 19 - 0, fighting out of London, William Sims!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sims throws a right hand that misses
and Drago connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Drago defending well as Sims loads up on a big left hand.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sims. Drago does a little dance to reset his feet.
Sims throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Drago stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Drago uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sims.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Drago.
William Sims seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Drago scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Sloppy strikes from Sims. Those never looked like landing.
Sims lands a nice shot to the body.
Drago dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Sims. That did some damage!
Sims buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Sims digs a good body shot into Drago's ribs.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sims is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Drago.
A solid body kick from Drago.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sims throws a lazy right hand but Drago sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Sims blocks the body kick.
A jab from Drago does it's job there.
Sims throws a right hand that misses
and Drago counters with a good, hard body kick but Sims shrugs it off.
Jab, jab by Drago - just one landing.
Sims bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Drago's head.
Sims works Drago's body with a nice hook.
Sims fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Drago.
Drago slips a jab and a cross from Sims.
Sims keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Drago takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Drago definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Drago missing with a left hand there. Sims was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Sims uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Drago.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Drago paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sims throws a sloppy head kick and Drago moves out of range easily.
Sims throws a looping overhand right but Drago ducks down to avoid it.
Sims rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Drago counters with a body kick that stops Sims in his tracks momentarily.
Sims wants to clinch
enabling Drago to counter with a crisp jab.
Sims tries to bum rush Drago with a series of wild strikes but Drago uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Sims throws a hook but Drago avoids it easily.
Drago lands a big head kick that sends Sims tumbling to the mat! Drago takes a step backwards and waves Sims back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Sims is rocked!
Drago circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Sims tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Drago wins by KO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ice Drago!
Ice Drago retains his bantamweight title!
Ice Drago seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
William Sims spoke after the fight, saying 'Well, what a career. I've had my ups and downs but it's time to hang up my gloves. Thanks to all the fans who supported me.'.
