Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harvey Conway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Harvey Conway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Emelianenko!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Emelianenko closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Conway to the mat! Conway manages to get full guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Emelianenko wants to control from the top but Conway keeps moving.
Emelianenko stays in close to Conway's body and controls the position.

Conway tries to sprawl but Emelianenko drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Harvey Conway has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Still in the clinch, Conway scores with a nice short uppercut.
Conway tries to pull guard but Emelianenko forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Conway manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Conway looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Conway will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

and Conway cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Emelianenko wants to stand but Conway is controlling his arm.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fedor Emelianenko dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Conway gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Emelianenko to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The ground and pound from Conway seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Emelianenko wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Conway lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Emelianenko down.
Conway has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Emelianenko is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Conway is controlling him well.

Conway is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Emelianenko is trying to escape and Conway transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Emelianenko is forced to tap! Nice work there by Conway! Very nice indeed!
