The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jonhson tries to close the distance and clinch but Jay swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jay tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Jonhson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Jonhson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jay keeps working.

Jonhson seems to be looking for submissions.
Jonhson is keen to just control but Jay is a slippery customer.
Jay is looking for a sweep. Jonhson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Jonhson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Jay is refusing to be controlled, as Jonhson sits in half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jay lands a really nice looking cross but Jonhson seems unphased.

It looks like Jack Jonhson has been cut.
Jay throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Jonhson stumbling backwards into the cage! Jonhson bounces back off the cage towards Jay, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Jay lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Jay celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
