The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bauer walks into a straight right hand from Perreira.
Bauer could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Perreira fails to land with a series of punches.
Perreira tries to clinch up.

Bauer throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Perreira was covering up waiting for the punch and Bauer finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Bauer gets to his feet. Perreira looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

and Bauer counters with a nice double leg into side control. Perreira won't be happy with that.

Bauer is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Perreira is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bauer is trying to get an arm triangle but Perreira is defending well.
Perreira tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Bauer fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Perreira sprawls well initially but Bauer persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Bauer has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Perreira's face.
Perreira tries to lock up and control but Bauer gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Bauer manages to capitalize on a mistake by Perreira to take his back!
