Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Freddy Fred (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Owen Xenon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Owen Xenon will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Xenon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Fred clinches up against the cage.
Xenon is pressed up against the cage. Fred has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Xenon down to the mat. Xenon avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Fred misses with a wild body shot.
Xenon moves in looking to clinch but Fred pushes him off.
Fred looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Fred clinches with his opponent.

Xenon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Xenon fails to land the takedown.
Xenon moves in looking to clinch but Fred pushes him off.
Fred shoots in looking for a takedown but Xenon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Fred's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The fight stays on the outside here - Xenon looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Xenon tries a head kick but it misses.
Fred shoots in looking for a takedown. Xenon tries to sprawl out of it but Fred keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Xenon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fred is breathing heavily.
Xenon tries to clinch but Fred moves out of range.

Xenon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Xenon shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fred as he jumps to the side.
Xenon uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Fred has time to react.

Xenon slaps away a takedown attempt from Fred, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Xenon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fred moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A head kick by Fred misses
and Xenon finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Fred tries to score a power double leg takedown but Xenon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fred somewhat.
Fred takes a kick to the side of the head.

It looks like Freddy Fred has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Xenon swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Fred counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Fred sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Xenon lands with a slapping head kick.

Fred blocks a head kick by Xenon.
Xenon lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Xenon looks for a takedown but Fred sprawls well.
Xenon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Xenon jabs Fred to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Xenon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Xenon wants it to stay on the feet.
Fred takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Xenon shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Xenon showed some decent athleticism there.

Xenon decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Xenon looks for a takedown but Fred sprawls well.
Nice takedown defense from Xenon. No joy for Fred on that attempt.
Xenon closes the distance and clinches up with Fred, looking for a takedown. Xenon pushes Fred against the cage but Fred circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fred slips a straight right by Xenon.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Xenon tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Fred defends well and Xenon ends up having to push Fred into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Fred is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Xenon pulls him back up using the underhooks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Xenon manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Fred on his heels. He'll look to pass Fred's guard now, I'm sure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fred on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fred tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Xenon swivels and escapes.
Xenon throws a sloppy head kick and Fred moves out of range easily.

Owen Xenon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

That kick from Xenon tenderised Fred's leg. Fred is trying to keep his angry face on.

Fred has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Xenon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Xenon lands with a kick to the temple. Fred shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Freddy Fred seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fred is looking to control Xenon's arms but Xenon gets an underhook and turns him. Now Fred has his back to the cage.

Owen Xenon is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Xenon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
