Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James Edin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sean Avery!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Josh West and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edin tries to clinch but Avery moves away
and Avery counters with a thumping low kick.
Edin with a poor takedown

and Avery counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Edin wants to improve his position but Avery is controlling well.
Edin wants to control but Avery is keeping busy.

Edin tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Avery defends well and Edin ends up having to push Avery into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Edin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Edin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
