The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcdaniel avoids the head kick by Newton.
Newton throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Mcdaniel really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Newton pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mcdaniel closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Newton did well to prevent Mcdaniel getting side control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Mcdaniel seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Newton is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
