The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaia darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Tuominen looking for submissions off his back.
Kaia tries to pass to full mount but Tuominen defends it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kaia throws a strike but Tuominen avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Kaia drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Tuominen manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kaia has Tuominen in his guard.
Kaia is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kaia is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Tuominen has latched onto it... Big trouble! Tuominen pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Kaia is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Tuominen!
