Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Erick Monroe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Erick Monroe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alex Walker! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Mauricio Rocha and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walker shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Walker must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Monroe looking to hit a scissor sweep but Walker is one step ahead there. Monroe really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Monroe bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Walker's guard. Monroe is looking to stand up but Walker won't let him. Walker is adopting a defensive guard. Walker has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Monroe can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Monroe stands up from guard. Let's bang! Walker shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Walker was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Walker working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monroe is looking for a sweep. Walker trying to control the action but Monroe is working from the bottom. Walker is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Monroe is looking to reverse the position. Monroe is working hard here to advance position. Monroe can't do much from the bottom here. Walker avoids the strikes from the bottom by Monroe.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walker wants to stand but Monroe has his arm trapped. Walker thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Monroe tries to bench press Walker off him but Walker keeps the position. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Monroe is trying to control Walker's posture but Walker avoids it. Walker slips into full mount, dodging the strikes by Monroe. Monroe is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Monroe squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Monroe tries to reverse the position but Walker maintains control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Monroe tries to hold on but Walker postures up. Walker can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Monroe is looking to escape. Monroe tries to hold on but Walker pushes him away. Monroe has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever. Monroe is having to fend off submission attempts from Walker, who is looking to sink in the choke. Walker doesn't have the hooks in though and Monroe manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard. Monroe won't allow Walker to sweep him here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Monroe chips away with some ground and pound. Monroe trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Monroe tries to stand but Walker is controlling from the bottom. Walker throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Walker wants to stand but Monroe is controlling the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Monroe is working Walker over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Erick Monroe will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Monroe wants to clinch. Walker avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Monroe tries to sprawl but Walker drives through with a takedown into half guard. Monroe holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Walker decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Monroe wants to clinch. Walker is looking to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walker drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Walker wants to stand but Monroe is controlling his posture from full guard. Monroe trying to strike off his back.
Monroe is looking to stand up but Walker isn't so interested in that idea. Monroe looking for a sweep. Not yet Monroe, not yet. Walker postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Monroe wants to sweep but no luck. Walker wants to control from the top but Monroe keeps moving. Monroe wants to stand up but Walker is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walker looking to sit in guard and control but Monroe gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Walker is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Monroe trying to control but Walker is working from the bottom. Walker wants to sweep here but Monroe controlling him for the moment. Walker manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Monroe manages to get himself to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Monroe controls Walker momentarily but Walker frees himself. Walker preventing the sweep. Walker trying to control the position from guard on top but Monroe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Walker has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Monroe is proving hard to escape from. Monroe is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Walker is aware though and is defending well. Walker wants to stand but Monroe is controlling his posture from full guard. Walker wants to control from the top but Monroe keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Monroe bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Walker's guard. Walker avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Walker looking to hit a scissor sweep but Monroe is one step ahead there. Monroe is looking to work some ground and pound but Walker has wrist control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Monroe missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Monroe not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alex Walker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Monroe misses the shot to the body. Monroe misses with a left hand and Walker counters with a series of strikes. Monroe will be more careful next time no doubt. Monroe closes the distance and clinches. Walker jumps guard and drags Monroe to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Monroe throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Walker wants to stand and escape but Monroe is having none of it. Walker trying to control the position.
Monroe gets to his feet - Walker follows without any prompting.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monroe blocks a head kick by Walker.
Walker scores with a takedown into Monroe's guard. Walker takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Monroe thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Monroe is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Walker defends well. Monroe is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Walker drops back looking for a leg! Monroe is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Monroe manages to kick Walker off! Walker jumps back into Monroe's guard. Monroe is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Monroe wants to stand up but Walker is controlling him. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Monroe is on top in guard.
Monroe gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Walker shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Monroe is trying to defend but Walker finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Monroe tries to roll over but Walker keeps him under control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walker tries to stand but can't do so whilst Monroe controls his leg. Walker decides to return to a standing position. Monroe is looking to clinch. Walker misses with a head kick.
Monroe changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Walker tries to avoid it but Monroe manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Walker to the ground. Walker escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Walker tries to close the distance and clinch but Monroe swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Walker bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Monroe is trying to improve his position. Monroe gets back to half guard. Walker prevents Monroe from standing back up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Monroe is refusing to be controlled, as Walker sits in half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Monroe throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Alex Walker. I think Walker has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
