Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kirk Boon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roberto Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boon comes to the cage accompanied by Who are you? Come on, goodbye!. Rodriguez has chosen Dan Balan Beautiful Girl as his entrance music. Kirk Boon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Boon fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Boon misses with a two punch combination.
Rodriguez shoots in for a takedown but Boon shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Sloppy strikes from Boon. Those never looked like landing.
Rodriguez wants to clinch.
Rodriguez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Boon tries to avoid it but Rodriguez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Boon to the ground. Boon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rodriguez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Boon pinned against the cage. Boon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Kirk Boon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roberto Rodriguez.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Rodriguez.
Rodriguez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Boon circles away.
Boon tries to bum rush Rodriguez with a series of wild strikes but Rodriguez uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Rodriguez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Boon avoids it really well and circles away.

Rodriguez is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Rodriguez wants to stand but Boon is controlling his posture from full guard.
Boon has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Rodriguez has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at EUOLUCAO MMA . Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rodriguez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Boon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rodriguez has managed to get both his arms back between Boon's legs - danger averted.

Boon is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Rodriguez has his hands clasped together but Boon extends and breaks Rodriguez's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Boon.
