With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edie Gonzalez!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, John Kavanagh and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Austin defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gonzalez.

and Austin makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

and Austin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Gonzalez counters with a three punch combo that has Austin backing up. Austin nods at Gonzalez to acknowledge the strikes.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Austin lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Gonzalez has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Gonzalez and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Austin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Austin lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Gonzalez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Austin is fending him off so far but Gonzalez persists. Nope, Austin circles away and we're back to standing.

Austin lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Austin connects with a leg kick. Gonzalez looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

That was a close second round but I would say that Lucas Austin will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!


Gonzalez throws a lazy right hand but Austin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Austin is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

and Austin counters with a one-two to the body.

Edie Gonzalez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Austin wants to take the fight to the mat but Gonzalez manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Austin - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gonzalez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Well Austin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
