The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vesilla throws a half hearted mid kick.
Vega avoids a kick to the body.

Vesilla throws a push kick but Vega slaps the foot to one side.
Vesilla throws a wild body kick that Vega sees coming a mile off.
Vesilla misses with a head kick.
Vesilla throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Vega moves out of range of the body kick from Vesilla.
Tyreke Vesilla seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vesilla throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Vega counters by moving into the clinch.
Vega is trying to drag Vesilla to the mat but Vesilla just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Vega has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Vesilla regains guard immediately.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Vega thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Vesilla is defending against the submission attempts here by Vega.
Vega really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Vesilla is trying to get back to full guard.

Vega is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Vesilla regains full guard. Nicely done.
Vesilla wants to control the position but Vega says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vega in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Vesilla tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Vega!
