The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hedrick closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Hedrick shoots in and bounces Guzman off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hedrick postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hedrick stands up over Guzman, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Guzman wants to sweep here but Hedrick controlling him for the moment.

Hedrick lands a couple of elbows.
Guzman trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Hedrick is in close to Guzman's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Hedrick passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Hedrick wants to control but Guzman is keeping him busy.
Hedrick cracks Guzman with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Hedrick creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Hedrick cracks Guzman with a big right hand but Guzman just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Guzman is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hedrick cracks Guzman with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Hedrick immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Guzman is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Hedrick!
