Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Blake Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Test Subject (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Blake Ward!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Test Subject!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Subject leaves Ward with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Subject thumps Ward with a low kick.
Subject throws a leg kick

and Ward counters with a shoot takedown. Subject fights it but they end up in guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Ward trying to control the position from guard on top but Subject is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ward throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Subject works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ward accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Subject wants to sweep but no luck.
Ward connects with a couple of short punches.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Subject has his hands on Ward's head, controlling the position.
Ward trying to control but Subject is working from the bottom.
Subject trying to keep a closed guard but Ward is proving a slippery customer.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ward drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ward jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ward throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Subject works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Ward postures up in Subject's guard and throws a big left but Subject blocks it.
Subject tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Subject utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Subject is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Subject is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Ward postures up in Subject's guard and throws a big left but Subject blocks it.

Ward wants to control from the top but Subject keeps moving.

Subject avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Subject is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Ward throws a big right hand that misses.
Subject wants to sweep here but Ward controlling him for the moment.
Subject is adopting a defensive guard.
Ward wants to control from the top but Subject keeps moving.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Subject ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ward moves away.

Subject scores with a jab to the body.
Subject moves into range and connects with a jab.
Subject tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ward was well out of range. Poor timing from Subject.
Subject throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Subject takes the fight into the clinch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Subject.
Ward wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Subject lands a nice uppercut.
Ward misses with a body punch.
Subject pushes Ward back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Subject lands a body punch in the clinch.
Subject lands a hook that snaps the head of Ward backwards.
Subject lands a left hand that snaps the head of Ward backwards.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Subject lands an uppercut.
Ward can't break the clinch.
Ward wants to get back to striking at distance but Subject won't allow it.
Ward is trying to force a seperation but Subject has the dominant position.
Ward letting Subject take a breather here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Subject digs a right hand underneath Ward's ribcage. Ward let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Subject stalling the fight.
A nice left hand lands by Subject.
Subject's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Subject has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. So far he's outscoring his opponent in the clinch so it seems to have been worthwhile.
Subject is trying to stall.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Test Subject.
Subject bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ward's head backwards.
Test Subject seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Subject is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Test Subject dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Subject swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Ward steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Subject.
Subject lands with a shot to the body.
Subject moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.


Ward is rocked!
Subject lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Ward is looking to close the distance but Subject sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Ward crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Ward is OK because that was naaaaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Knee). Test Subject!
