PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jamir Amini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Commie Sutra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sutra has chosen Immortal Technique - Golpe de Estado as his entrance music. Commie Sutra will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jamir Amini!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Commie Sutra!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sutra throws a head kick that Amini semi-blocks.
Commie Sutra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sutra tries to clinch but Amini moves out of range.
Sutra motions for Amini to come forward. Sutra throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Amini shoots in and bounces Sutra off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Amini slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Sutra really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Amini. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Amini forces Sutra back against the cage and clinches.

Sutra manages to break the clinch.

Amini closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Amini happy to just control the position for now.
Amini tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

You can see the frustration on Sutra's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Amini landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Amini wants to control but Sutra is keeping him busy.
Amini is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Sutra's shoulder. That is not cool.
Amini tries to advance to mount but Sutra denies him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sutra is trying to get back to half guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Amini decides to stand back up.
Amini looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sutra is fending him off so far but Amini persists. Nope, Sutra circles away and we're back to standing.
Amini is breathing heavily.
Sutra connects with a high kick.
Amini takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Sutra closes the distance and clinches up with Amini, looking for a takedown. Sutra pushes Amini against the cage but Amini circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Sutra gets a clinch.
Amini tries to pull guard but Sutra holds him up against the cage and eventually Amini drops back down to his feet.
Sutra wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Sutra wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Amini has him pressed against the cage.

Amini pulls Sutra into guard.
Sutra stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Amini swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sutra postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jamir Amini dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Sutra clobbers Amini with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
A right-left combo lands from Sutra.
Sutra swats away the attempt to clinch by Amini.
Sutra is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real.
Amini shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sutra but Sutra pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sutra throws a combination. Amini tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Sutra has managed to clinch.
Sutra is pressed up against the cage. Amini has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sutra down to the mat. Sutra avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

The fight stays on the outside here - Sutra looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Amini is on top in guard.
Sutra wants to stand and escape but Amini is having none of it.

Amini takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Amini tries to clinch but Sutra is having none of it.

Sutra gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Sutra escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Amini dodges the punch combination from Sutra.
Sutra misses with a head kick.

Amini bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Sutra wants to control but Amini postures up.
Amini tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Amini scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Sutra to see if he's OK.
Amini is looking to take a break and control but Sutra is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Commie Sutra showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Sutra tries to bum rush Amini with a series of wild strikes but Amini uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Sutra lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Amini shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sutra is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Amini not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Sutra pushes Amini off and gets back to his feet.
Sutra feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Amini's calf.
