Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kurt Angle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Donald McTavish!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McTavish scores with a decent looking hook.
Nice uppercut lands for McTavish. That snapped Angle's head back.


It looks like Kurt Angle has been cut.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Angle.
A big left from Angle misses.
Angle tries to land a front kick but McTavish steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
McTavish connects with a jab.
Angle slips a jab from McTavish.
McTavish uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Angle.
Angle throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
McTavish bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Angle looks to score with a jab to the body but McTavish is just out of range.
Angle takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Angle throws a hook but McTavish blocks it.

McTavish is looking to escape.

Angle seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McTavish does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Angle is stalling here. McTavish is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Angle seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and McTavish has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Angle can't do much from the bottom here.

McTavish decides to stand back up.
McTavish steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Angle.
Angle swings and misses with a shot to the body
and McTavish counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Kurt Angle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Angle avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Angle has a takedown stuffed.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kurt Angle. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Angle walks into a jab.
Angle shoots in for a takedown but McTavish shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
McTavish lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

and McTavish counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
McTavish scores with a hook.


Angle is rocked!
Angle moves out of range as McTavish strikes.
Oh Angle is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
McTavish might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
McTavish misses with a hook.
McTavish has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Angle is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Angle avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
McTavish misses with a hook. Angle ducked under it nicely.
Angle dives in for a single leg takedown but McTavish sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
McTavish is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Angle pushes off an throws an elbow but McTavish leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

McTavish pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
McTavish is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Angle had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
McTavish swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Angle uses good head movement to avoid the hook from McTavish.
A telegraphed right hand from McTavish misses the target.
Angle seems to have got his legs back now.
Angle looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Angle is breathing heavily.
McTavish works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Angle walks straight into a right hand from McTavish - that's dropped him! McTavish jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Angle from any more punishment! Angle complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
