Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Big Chis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Stanlay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Billy Stanlay has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Big Chis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Billy Stanlay!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Eliza Hachem and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stanlay tries to work over Chis's front leg with a kick but Chis checks it.
Chis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stanlay's waist but Stanlay gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Chis off to one side.
Chis avoids a punch combination nicely.
Stanlay wants to land a leg kick but Chis is out of range.

Chis shoots for a takedown but Stanlay saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Horrible takedown by Chis or perhaps it was just good defense by Stanlay which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Big Chis. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Chis wants to clinch up but Stanlay keeps it at a distance.
Chis tries to land a front kick but Stanlay steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chis takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Chis stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Stanlay.

Stanlay shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Stanlay thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Stanlay stands up over Chis, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Chis is pulling down on Stanlay's head. It's preventing any offense from Stanlay, at least for the moment.
Stanlay won't allow Chis to sweep him here.

Stanlay postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Chis is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Stanlay, into his guard.

Stanlay working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Chis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Chis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Stanlay has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Chis wants to pass to mount but Stanlay is defending the position.

Chis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Stanlay does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Stanlay moves into full guard.
Chis wants to stand but Stanlay has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Billy Stanlay dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Chis shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Stanlay counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Chis!

Stanlay is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Chis is surviving well by controlling Stanlay's body position as best he can.
Chis regains half guard.
Chis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Stanlay is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Stanlay looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Chis keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Chis is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Stanlay locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Chis is forced to tap!
