Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Marsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, D Wayne Christopher!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marsh closes the distance looking to clinch

and Christopher counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Marsh lands a knee to the head.
Christopher is trying to maintain a safe position but Marsh gets an underhook and turns Christopher into the cage.

Marsh manages to break the clinch.
Christopher tries to close the distance and clinch up but Marsh swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Christopher has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Marsh is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Christopher takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Christopher looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Marsh is fending him off so far but Christopher persists. Nope, Marsh circles away and we're back to standing.
Christopher tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Marsh counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Marsh rushes Christopher and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Marsh controlling the action here for a moment.
Christopher has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Marsh after a bit of a struggle.

Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Marsh.
Christopher tries to pull guard but Marsh forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Jake Marsh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of D Wayne Christopher.
Marsh is pushing Christopher up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Marsh for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Jake Marsh.
Christopher is looking to clinch.

Marsh closes the distance and clinches up with Christopher, looking for a takedown. Marsh pushes Christopher against the cage but Christopher circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Marsh really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Christopher moves in looking to clinch but Marsh pushes him off.

and Marsh counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Marsh.
Marsh keeps control of Christopher as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Christopher pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Marsh closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Marsh's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Marsh has managed to clinch.
Christopher is breathing heavily.
Christopher has Marsh pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Marsh manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Christopher gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Marsh to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Marsh throws a big right hand that misses.
Marsh knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Christopher on the ground.

Marsh decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jake Marsh.

Marsh wants to get up but he can't break Christopher's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Marsh tries to free his leg and advance position but Christopher is retaining full guard.
Marsh postures up and lands a big shot to Christopher's brow.
Christopher will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Jake Marsh is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
