Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marvin Mendoza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Severi Suhonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Suhonen is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Lentävä Kalakukko. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marvin Mendoza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Severi Suhonen!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Suhonen clinches.

Suhonen breaks the clinch.
Mendoza misses with a takedown attempt
and Suhonen counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Suhonen scores with a jab to the head.
Mendoza closes the distance looking to clinch

and Suhonen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Suhonen advances to half guard.

Suhonen is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Mendoza tries to get to full guard but Suhonen has control of the leg.

Suhonen is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mendoza has managed to free his arm - good work.
Mendoza won't allow Suhonen to pass to mount.
Mendoza is trying to get back to full guard.

Mendoza is defending against the submission attempts here by Suhonen.

Suhonen looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Suhonen looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mendoza with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Suhonen is looking for a kimura but Mendoza is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Suhonen to get the leverage.

Suhonen seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Suhonen is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Suhonen winds up and cracks Mendoza with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Suhonen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mendoza is just riding it out for now. Suhonen eventually gives up the hold.

Suhonen is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mendoza doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Suhonen.

Mendoza is trying to control but can't.
Suhonen not doing much here.

Suhonen seems to be working for a kimura but Mendoza defends the submission attempt.

Suhonen seems to be looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Suhonen controlling the action here.
Suhonen is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Mendoza!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Severi Suhonen dominated that round.
That's time! Mendoza's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Suhonen counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Suhonen has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Suhonen looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Mendoza!

Mendoza is rocked!

Suhonen has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Mendoza is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Suhonen yanks on the arm and Mendoza is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Suhonen.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Severi Suhonen!
Severi Suhonen very nearly forgot to thank Just Fight (Everything 7$) amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
