Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ahmed Roberson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zane Whitehead (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Zane Whitehead was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ahmed Roberson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Zane Whitehead!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Valeri Chadov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Roberson with that takedown attempt.
Whitehead shoots in looking for a takedown. Roberson tries to sprawl out of it but Whitehead keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Roberson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Whitehead closes the distance and clinches.

Whitehead drags the fight down to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Roberson stands up over Whitehead, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Whitehead looking to hit a scissor sweep but Roberson is one step ahead there.
Whitehead manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Roberson manages to get himself to full guard.
Whitehead wants to pass the guard but Roberson is keeping the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Whitehead is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Whitehead advances to half guard.
Roberson wants to improve his position but Whitehead is controlling well.
Whitehead takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Whitehead is looking for a kimura here.
Roberson won't allow Whitehead to pass to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Roberson is looking to control Whitehead's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Roberson avoid being mounted?
Whitehead trying to control from half guard but Roberson is working away.
Whitehead wants to pass to mount but Roberson is defending the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Whitehead keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Zane Whitehead wasn't active enough on the ground.
Roberson misses with a right hand
and Whitehead counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Roberson to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Whitehead!
