Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeremy Beglin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phil Brooks!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beglin throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Beglin stuns Brooks with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Beglin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Brooks is fending him off so far but Beglin persists. Nope, Brooks circles away and we're back to standing.
Brooks fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Brooks displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Beglin.
Beglin darts in looking for a takedown but Brooks gets double underhooks and turns Beglin into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeremy Beglin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A frustrated look appears on Beglin's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Brooks prevents the takedown attempt.

Beglin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Beglin takes the fight into the clinch.
Brooks is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Beglin breaks the clinch.
Beglin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brooks with a poor takedown
and Beglin counters with a body kick that stops Brooks in his tracks momentarily.

Brooks throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Beglin was covering up waiting for the punch and Brooks finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Beglin throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Beglin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Brooks on the ground.
Beglin wants to stand but Brooks is controlling the position.
Brooks trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Brooks won't allow Beglin to get back to his feet.
Beglin is breathing heavily.
Brooks passes Beglin's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brooks passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Beglin!
Beglin has given up his back here. Will Brooks look for the submission or keep pounding away?

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Brooks is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Beglin has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Brooks has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Beglin taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Brooks doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Phil Brooks!
