Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Adams moves into the clinch successfully.
Russell is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Adams to keep the fight standing.

Adams has clasped his hands together around Russell's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Russell is looking for a sweep.

Adams working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Russell is looking to reverse the position.
Russell can't do much from the bottom here.
Adams in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Adams unloads with some shots from mount but Russell bucks and avoids them well.

Adams escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Russell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Adams looking to score a takedown here. Russell is defending well but Adams drives through and ends up in Russell's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Adams fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Russell sprawls well initially but Adams persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Russell has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Adams is working away from the top position though.

Adams is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Adams thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Russell's head.
Russell tries to get to full guard but Adams has control of the leg.

Russell won't allow Adams to pass to mount.
Russell tries to roll over but Adams keeps him under control.
Adams not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Russell pushes Adams off looking to stand but Adams dives back in and keeps control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Adams drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Adams drops back, looking for a kneebar! Russell looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Russell looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Russell!
Russell is looking to take a break and control but Adams is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Adams is looking for a sweep.
Adams is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Russell asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Adams tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Adams takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Adams manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Adams is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Russell wants to get back to his feet.
Adams is trying to control the action in half guard but Russell is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Adams is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Adams is looking to stall here but Russell recovers full guard.
Russell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Adams tries to clinch up but Russell circles away and keeps his distance.

Brian Adams comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Adams has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
